Wider spraying width, greater operating comfort, and automation
Ludwigshafen, September 2, 2026 – Upgrade for the Joseph special paver Vögele AG: The new SUPER 1800-5 X SprayJet offers a spraying width of up to 8.25 m, precise dosing of small spray volumes, and a spray module with optional heating for residual emulsion. New Dash-5 technologies ensure a high level of operating comfort, reduced setup times, and automated processes.
Spray pavers apply bitumen emulsion and asphalt wearing courses in a single pass. This ensures an optimal bond between layers, saving time, material, and costs. With the new SUPER 1800-5 X SprayJet presents Vögele now a model that offers additional application possibilities, high operating comfort, and new automation solutions. Like its predecessor, the new machine can be used flexibly as a conventional road paver or as a spray paver. As a standard paver, it offers a paving width of up to 9.25 m; as a spray paver, a spraying width of up to 8.25 m. That is 2.25 m more than before. This allows construction companies to use the special machine both in municipal areas and for motorway rehabilitation projects. The insulated emulsion tank of the spray module has a capacity of 2,100 liters, while an optional additional emulsion tank expands the capacity up to 7,100 liters. With an engine output of 129 kW and a paving capacity of 700 t/h, the SUPER 1800-5 X SprayJet is also extremely powerful. Numerous new technologies make the daily work of operators easier – such as the ErgoPlus 5 operating concept, push-button startup with Paver Access Control (PAC), the optional Light Package Plus, or automation solutions like the digital paver control system Smart Pave and digital site documentation with WPT Paving.
The SUPER 1800-5 X SprayJet is equipped with five spray bars located between, behind, and to the sides of the crawler tracks. This arrangement enables seamless emulsion application even with changing working widths. With two additional extensions, the maximum spraying width of 8.25 m can be achieved. The spray nozzles operate in pulse mode at a maximum pressure of 3 bar and are available as 07, 10, and 16 nozzles with 70%, 100%, and 160% throughput, respectively. An optimized calibration ensures extremely precise dosing across the entire spraying width – even with low volumes. To keep small emulsion quantities of less than 300 liters at temperature until the end of operation, the new model now offers a version with additional heating. This way, even residual emulsion can be completely used up with low spray volumes and low ambient temperatures.
With the new operating concept ErgoPlus 5 is the SUPER 1800-5 X SprayJet consistently tailored to the needs of operators: Vögele has optimized the operator console while also simplifying the operation of the SprayJetfunctions, improved the design, reduced the overall height to increase leg room, and integrated additional storage options, for example for the smartphone. With the new SmartWheel the spray paver can be controlled with extreme precision. Via the optional touch display, operators can also conveniently monitor and operate existing and future digital solutions. The tank is equipped with a new, high-resolution, high-contrast display, allowing operators to easily read values even in bright sunlight. Key functions and displays for the SprayJet-module can also be accessed via the displays of the screed control consoles. Additional convenience features include: With Paver Access Control (PAC), operators can start up the spray paver at the touch of a button. Using a separate control unit, they can manage all initial steps safely and conveniently. On night construction sites, the Light Package Plus option ensures shorter setup times: Two LED spotlights built firmly into the roof and awning illuminate the paver and screed area across the entire paving width. In addition, the new model is also available with a windshield.
The SUPER 1800-5 X SprayJet also assists operators with steering and leveling: The automation solutions Grade Assist, AutoTrac and Smart Pave control profile paving as well as the direction and width of the Dash-5 paver. Cloud-based jobsite intelligence solutions such as the Wirtgen Group Performance Tracker (WPT) Paving and the new RoadScan help paving crews record and analyze relevant paving, temperature, and paver data in real time, and optimize the entire paving process.
Joseph Vögele AG has upgraded the SUPER 1800-5 X SprayJet spray paver to Dash-5 level.
