2006–2013: New Potential

The WIRTGEN GROUP Paves the Way for New Growth

The WIRTGEN GROUP entered the materials processing market in order to tap further potential in the future in addition to road construction. Two areas of business are defined: “Road Technologies” and “Mineral Technologies”.

New Area of Business: Mineral Technologies

The development of the second area of business began in 2006 with the successful integration of KLEEMANN GmbH, a long-established German manufacturer of stationary and mobile processing systems, into the group. The gradual addition of KLEEMANN into the WIRTGEN GROUP’s global sales and service network and the construction of the new brand headquarters in Göppingen allowed the WIRTGEN GROUP to further expand its “Mineral Technologies” division in the years leading up to 2010 and position it strongly for the future.

Furthermore, the WIRTGEN GROUP finally achieved its breakthrough in open-cast mining in 2006. For the first time ever, a company in Australia used surface miners as its primary equipment for mining iron ore. With the 4200 SM, WIRTGEN GmbH expanded its mining segment for large-scale open-cast mining.

Innovative Solutions for Road and Mineral Technologies

The WIRTGEN GROUP unveiled 29 new products at bauma 2013, once again showcasing the innovative strength of its Road and Mineral Technologies divisions.

With six world premieres, WIRTGEN ushered in a new era in road construction. Whether for new construction or rehabilitation – with the two new generations of cold recyclers, soil stabilizers, and slipform pavers, road construction companies are perfectly positioned to meet any challenge.

The new “Dash 3” generation from VÖGELE delivered maximum process reliability, lower fuel consumption, and greater ease of use. Eleven new models of road pavers and extending screeds were on display at bauma 2013.

With nine world premieres in the H, HD+, and HD CompactLine series, HAMM rounded out its range of high-quality compactors and tandem rollers.

The new MOBICAT EVO series of mobile jaw crushers set new standards in the contractor market. KLEEMANN’s three world premieres stood out for their outstanding efficiency and extreme versatility.

HAMM “Series H”

HAMM expands its “H Series” by introducing three new base models with operating weights between 11 and 16 tons. The compactors are powered by a state-of-the-art, future-proof Tier 4i/EU IIIB engine and offer outstanding visibility as well as excellent handling and compaction performance.

With four new models starting at 2.5 tons, HAMM expands the series and makes it possible to even use its versatile compaction technology in the compact tandem roller segment.
