In the space of just three days, COLAS – an internationally operational construction company – renovated the asphalt surface course of the D934, a major regional road in France, along a stretch measuring some 2.5 kilometres in length and averaging 6.2 metres in width. To rise to the challenge of compacting such an extensive surface, COLAS turned to Smart Compact Pro for the assistance offered by real-time density measurement and automated compaction.

As of 1 January 2027, warm mix asphalt (WMA) will be the new mandatory standard construction method in Germany. This shifts the focus not only on the job sites, but already on the point of production: Asphalt mixing plants become the crucial factor for successful use of WMA.
