The production process of asphalt with virgin mineral as a base is a challenging task in itself. If predominantly reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) and milled material are to be processed to produce new asphalt mixes, there is no real alternative to Benninghoven hot-gas generator technology. This is clearly demonstrated by an RPP 4000 plant operated by the medium-sized construction company Knäble in Biberach, Germany.
Smooth and seamless procedure are essential when it comes to asphalt paving on bridges and in open countryside. In order to assure the correct temperature of the mix during paving of a section of the B480 in Aftetal, the construction crew took advantage of the WITOS Paving Docu paving documentation tool with the RoadScan contactless temperature measurement system and the Jobsite Temp app.
