In-place cold recycling with the W 240 CRi

French road construction contractor Colas deployed a cold recycling train supplied by the Wirtgen Group for the rehabilitation of a link road near Paris. As a globally active concern, Colas is always on the lookout for new solutions for more environmentally friendly and sustainable road construction. With precisely this goal in mind, Colas rehabilitated a four-kilometre section of the road with the cold recycling method.

Low temperature – low emissions

To reduce emissions, contractors Schleith and Züblin had to use machines equipped with diesel particulate filters and reduced-temperature asphalt for paving in a road traffic tunnel under the Kriegsstrasse in Karlsruhe. The Vögele pavers and tandem rollers from Hamm not only fulfilled the strict regulations, but also guaranteed efficient, high quality paving.

Maximum recycling at Knäble with the RPP 4000 from Benninghoven

The production process of asphalt with virgin mineral as a base is a challenging task in itself. If predominantly reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) and milled material are to be processed to produce new asphalt mixes, there is no real alternative to Benninghoven hot-gas generator technology. This is clearly demonstrated by an RPP 4000 plant operated by the medium-sized construction company Knäble in Biberach, Germany.

Digital solution for asphalt paving project in Bad Wünnenberg

Smooth and seamless procedure are essential when it comes to asphalt paving on bridges and in open countryside. In order to assure the correct temperature of the mix during paving of a section of the B480 in Aftetal, the construction crew took advantage of the WITOS Paving Docu paving documentation tool with the RoadScan contactless temperature measurement system and the Jobsite Temp app.
