At its Luhe-Wildenau site, Bayerische Asphaltmischwerke (bam) has replaced its old plant with a modern RPP 3000 Plus with lateral loading silo – complete with leading-edge technologies: Hot gas generator for high RAP feed rates, a foam bitumen module for warm mix (low-temperature) asphalt and innovative BLS 4 plant control system with an optional recipe generator.

The rehabilitation and modernisation of the nearly 12-kilometre Mont Blanc Tunnel – one of the most important north-south corridors in the European road network – is scheduled for completion by 2042. Two wheeled pavers from Vögele have been deployed on the project. A latest-generation SUPER 1803-5 X and a SUPER 1303-3i took only one night to pave the surface course of a 400-metre section of the tunnel and impressively demonstrated what efficient machine technology can deliver on a tight deadline.

Three sections of the historic Via Appia, known today as the SS 7 (State Highway 7), were in need of rehabilitation. On the three sections, Italian road construction contractor Impresa Turlione deployed a large milling machine W 210 XF featuring the latest Wirtgen technology, a comfortable operator’s cabin and a sweeping unit for cleaning up after milling.

First-class asphalt for the fastest of cars: Russian building contractor Tekhalyans, responsible for the renovation and maintenance of the Sochi Autodrom, is using the new high-tech TBA 3000 plant. The feature speak for themselves: high mixing capacity, improved process reliability, less energy consumption and the resource-friendly use of recycled materials. Premium quality for top speeds of up to 320 km/h!
