Making quality measurable

Constant asphalt temperature, optimal paving: With the temperature measurement system RoadScan developed for the Dash 5 machine generation, VÖGELE enables precise, full-coverage monitoring of the paving temperature.

One of the major challenges in road construction? Making quality measurable! Continuous monitoring of the asphalt mix temperature is crucial—especially when paving with reduced-temperature asphalt.

With the VÖGELE RoadScan measurement system, users can monitor and document the asphalt temperature behind the screed continuously—across a paving width of up to 13 m. Operators view the data on the display of their VÖGELE road paver and in John Deere Operations Center™ from anywhere.

The RoadScan from VÖGELE is a high-precision temperature sensor with 100 % measurement coverage. Its compact dimensions and low weight ensure easy transport and simple mounting on the paver roof.

Additional usable measurement data

External influencing factors

Additional parameters such as the subgrade temperature can be measured via an undercarriage pyrometer. With the optional weather station, weather data such as wind speed, wind direction, ambient temperature, air pressure, and humidity can be recorded.

Positioning data

Thanks to the precise John Deere StarFire™ dual-antenna system of WPT Paving Pro, all recorded data is accurately geolocated.

All process data at a glance

The paving-relevant data can be combined with WPT data from all WIRTGEN GROUP machines involved in a jobsite (e.g. milling machines, pavers, and rollers). This provides a holistic overview of the entire Production System.
