More than just knowledge of the machines: a wealth of recycling expertise

International Sales and Service colleagues are expanding their expertise to meet the challenges of modern materials processing.

Mixed material, asphalt, or demolition material: Recycling applications present our customers with new challenges every day. Different material properties, fluctuating levels of foreign material, and high standards of quality and efficiency require not only high-performance machinery but, above all, in-depth knowledge of the application. It is precisely this knowledge of the application that took center stage at the recycling workshop at Kleemann, where over 2.5 days, colleagues from all over the world gained new insights and were able to engage in in-depth discussions.

A practice that leaves a lasting impression

The four practical workshops, which focused on various recycling applications, proved particularly popular. From soil processing using scalpers and the processing of concrete using various crushing plants, to the processing of mixed material and asphalt, participants were able to experience various material flows, process stages and plant designs at close quarters.

It soon became clear that: every application presents its own set of challenges. The material characteristics, the degree of contamination, foreign materials, and the requirements for the final product all influence the processes and require in-depth expertise. By working directly on the plants, the participants were able to gain a better understanding of the interrelationships and gain valuable insights for their work.

The entire processing chain in processing

In addition to the practical stations, the training course offered numerous workshops and presentations which broadened participants’ understanding of the entire process chain. Among other things, the workshop examined the impact of various recycled materials on component wear. The program also covered the removal of foreign materials from the material flow and the correct commissioning of machines.

Other speakers addressed digital topics such as WPT crushing or the calibration of a belt scale via the SPECTIVE operating concept. The electrical operation of the plants was also scrutinized.

Sharing knowledge, gaining experience

One of the major benefits of the training was the international exchange. Participants from various markets shared their experiences with a wide range of materials, applications and customer requirements. This led to a dialog from which everyone involved was able to benefit.

It was precisely this combination of practical work, technical background knowledge and the sharing of personal experiences that made the training particularly valuable for many participants.

The conclusion was correspondingly positive. The practical workshops were very well received by our international colleagues and provided plenty of inspiration for their day-to-day work. With a deeper understanding of applications, processes and customer requirements, the participants returned to their markets – well-equipped to support customers on their journey towards greater efficiency and successful recycling.
