Plant Train Impresses Visitors to IFAT Munich 2026

Focus on asphalt recycling during the live demo in the Crushing Zone.

Premiere for Kleemann at IFAT Munich 2026: As a specialist for mobile crushing and screening plants, the company exhibited its practical solutions for asphalt processing. Forward-looking solutions for water, recycling, and circularity were the focal points at the world's leading industry show for environmental technologies.

Live Demo: A Kleemann Plant Train in Operation

In the Crushing Zone, a MOBISCREEN MSS 502 EVO scalper, a MOBIREX MR 100 NEO impact crusher, and an MBT 20 stacker clearly demonstrated the seamless interaction of the Kleemann plants on site. The focus here was on the processing of homogeneous fractions and the production of high-quality aggregates. Visitors to the show were able to get up close to the plant train and experience this vividly and at first-hand. It became clear that the more bitumen and aggregate from reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) is reused, the better. As a rough guide: increasing the RAP addition rate from 20% to 60% can lead to cost savings of around 40% and emission reductions of approximately 20%.

From Removal to Recycling: Asphalt Recycling in the Loop

First screen, then crush: Appropriate prescreening means there is less mass to be crushed, a reduction of wear and energy consumption in the crusher, and a simultaneously lower proportion of fines. This is the basis for higher RAP addition rates and consistent recipes. The plant train on display demonstrates these advantages and is part of a continuous recycling loop: This begins with the selective milling of the surface course, binder course and base layer using milling machines from Wirtgen. In many cases, more than 60% of the milled material can be reused directly. Selective extraction of the asphalt layers significantly improves the quality of the recycled material. After screening and crushing with the Kleemann plants, the processed material is reused in asphalt mixing plants. Machines from Vögele and Hamm close the loop with subsequent paving and compaction. This results in an efficient, sustainable process – from removal and processing to reuse.

Milling, Processing and Mixing

As a co-exhibitor of VDMA Services GmbH, Kleemann appeared as part of the Crushing Zone (VDMA) – a manufacturer-independent demonstration area that brings innovative processing and recycling technology to life in a technology-neutral, practical, and forward-looking manner. In addition to the live demonstration, Kleemann was also represented on the Recycling Stage in the VDMA Pavilion. Here, the Kleemann application expert Frank Lebender reported on the “Asphalt Recycling Loop: Milling, Processing, Mixing”, and provided practical insights into the individual process steps and their interaction.

Direct Exchange with the Kleemann Experts

Even though asphalt recycling was the main focus of the appearance at the show, numerous discussions with visitors to the event revealed a broad interest in a wide variety of recycling applications.
During the show, numerous visitors took the opportunity to engage in direct dialog with the experts from Sales and Service at Wirtgen Deutschland and from the Kleemann factory.
