Thanks to market-driven machine solutions and customer-orientated services, the group of companies has grown to become the global market leader for mobile road construction machines.
HAMM in Tirschenreuth – the world's most advanced roller factory
Spanning an area of more than 350,000 m², HAMM has the world's most advanced roller factory. The assembly halls, production facilities and logistics centre are perfectly interlinked in a highly efficient process.
Working on a range of construction sites in the earthworks and asphalt sectors requires rollers to have optimum driving and steering characteristics. To meet this need, HAMM has installed three-point articulation – a more sophisticated upgrade from conventional articulated joints – in all compactors and tandem rollers in the HD CompactLine, HD and HD+ series as standard.
Ten per cent of employees in the HAMM AG plant work in the research and development sectors. They all have a clear purpose to follow in further developing and creating efficient machines. This purpose has by no means developed only in recent years – as a glance at the history of the company will show you.
Technical solutions – however ingenious they may be – will only succeed if they are user-friendly. HAMM recognised this fact at a very early stage. This is why product designers have been involved in the development process since the 1990s.
If required, cement is pre-spread by a STREUMASTER binding agent spreader which is followed by water and binder tanker trucks. The milling and mixing rotor of the W 240 CR / W 240 CRi granulates the asphalt pavement layers. At the same time, the cement is mixed in and the water and bitumen emulsion or foamed bitumen are sprayed into the mixing chamber via injection bars. The processed construction material is conveyed to the rear of the machine by the primary conveyor and paved true to grade and slope by the integrated VÖGELE paving screed with a spreading auger. HAMM rollers then carry out the final compaction.
With its entry into the material processing sector, the group of companies has created a further revenue stream and the conditions necessary for continuous growth.
Racetracks must meet particularly stringent requirements in terms of evenness and slope. Wirtgen Group machines can be used for new construction and rehabilitation.
With the InLine Pave concept, VÖGELE offers a particularly innovative paving technique specially suited for “hot on hot” paving when building compact asphalt pavements. Yet conventional road construction jobs, too, can be carried out in high quality and very economically the VÖGELE InLine Pave machine technology.
As the demands placed on modern crushing plants increase, so does their complexity. At the same time, the technology has to be reliable and as easy to control as possible - without the need for long training sessions. This is precisely the strength of the intuitive operating concept SPECTIVE.
