Asphalt mixing plant at sundown

A Ciber iNOVA 1500 Plant Supplies the Greater São Paulo Region

Focused on Sustainable Production

In the state of São Paulo, Brazilian infrastructure contractor EIXO SP is operating three Ciber iNOVA 1500 asphalt mixing plants. One of these is located in Itirapina, around 220 km from the state capital. The state-of-the-art continuous asphalt mixing plant with a production capacity of 150 t/h enables the use of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) and impresses with a simple operating concept and cutting edge control technology.

High Productivity and Outstanding Flexibility

The plant in Itirapina does an impressive job. It produces high-quality asphalt mix for a region of 22 municipalities and, thanks to its high production capacity of 150 t/h, can supply asphalt mix for a road network of more than 529 km. Its immediate proximity to the most important highways enables an ideal supply of high-quality asphalt mix to the construction sites. If the plant has to be moved to a new location, just one articulated low-loader is sufficient for the transportation of the mobile plant. This means that EIXO is in a position to cover the needs of the entire region with only one asphalt mixing plant.

Ideally Positioned for the Future – Thanks to the Use of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP)

Depending on the configuration, the iNOVA 1500 offers the possibility of processing reclaimed asphalt pavement without sacrificing quality. Up to 40% of reclaimed asphalt can be added to the new mix – an important option that swung the decision of the Brazilian company. “Such sustainability is essential for today's market, which is striving to achieve efficiency combined with responsibility for the environment,” explains production engineer Nathalia Liani.

“Sustainability is of crucial importance in today's market.”

100% Automated Operation Optimizes the Mixing Process

For Vinicius Dutra, product specialist at Ciber, the state-of-the-art, fully-automated control concept is another highlight of the asphalt mixing plant. “Thanks to automation, the plant can work at high speed. The control of the mixing time and temperature ensures a homogeneous mix in excellent quality.”

The precise dosing of the mix enables the South Americans to achieve results that fulfill the high technical standards for road surfaces. Nathalia Liani emphasizes: “With the iNOVA 1500, we have a plant that not only works reliably and flexibly, but also delivers consistent results throughout and optimizes our processes.”

Highlights of the iNOVA 1500:

  • Production rates of up to 150 t/h
  • Requires only one transport vehicle
  • 4 feed silos with individual weighing
  • Ciber Total Air burner
  • Efficient fuel consumption
  • High performance for special mixes
  • Simple operation
  • Optimized maintenance and service

“I like it best here in the plant operator’s cabin. I wouldn’t want to swap it for anything else.”

Camilo Souza, mixing foreman at EIXO SP

Innovative Technology for Easy Handling

Plant operators appreciate the easy handling of the wheeled mobile plant. The operator’s cabin is climate-controlled and is equipped with ergonomically designed, intuitively operable controls for the production process. Camilo Souza has been working at the EIXO SP asphalt mixing plant for the past seven months. “This is a really advanced plant. Its innovative technology assists me in my daily work. The great all-round visibility is particularly practical. That helps me to identify problems faster and makes my work easier. I feel very at home here.”
