New Vögele MINI pavers

New Vögele MINI pavers

Vögele is launching four MINI pavers, two of them electric: the MINI 500 and MINI 500e tracked pavers and the MINI 502 and MINI 502e wheeled pavers

Compact dimensions and a variable pave width The new Vögele MINI pavers are suitable for machine-paving small-scale projects, especially those in which paving crews were previously unable to use machines. Both tracked (MINI 500 and MINI 500e) and wheeled (MINI 502 and MINI 502e) versions of the machine are available. All four of the new pavers can be used to construct and repair cycle paths, sidewalks and drainage ditches, for paving between rail tracks, and for repair work in tight downtown locations. The E-Power pavers, the MINI 500e and MINI 502e, work on a battery-electric basis, meaning they emit no local emissions and run quietly.

Four new MINI pavers and a new extending screed from Vögele

The new MINI pavers extend the Vögele product range at the bottom end: Vögele launched the MINI 500, MINI 500e, MINI 502 and MINI 502e at the Bauma 2022 show. These pavers excel on small-scale construction projects and jobs covering a small area - the type of work for which paving crews would not previously have been able to use machines. Thanks to their elimination of manual labor, among other benefits, the new MINI pavers improve the efficiency and quality of asphalt paving, particularly in the construction of sidewalks and drains, as well as in tight downtown locations.

Pave widths achieved by the also new Vögele AB 135 extending screed range from 0.25 meters (0.82 ft.) with cut-off shoes to 1.8 meters (5.9 ft.) with bolt-on extensions. The basic width of the AB 135 is 0.8 meters (2.62 ft.). Without bolt-on extensions, it is infinitely adjustable from 0.8 meters (2.6 ft.) to 1.35 meters (4.4 ft.).

MINI 500e and MINI 502e with E-Power drive

Two of the MINI paver models are fitted with the battery-electric E-Power drive. These pavers emit zero local emissions, and run very quietly. That makes them ideal for critical jobsites such as in historic downtown areas.

E-Power pavers also allow contractors to tender for construction projects that are subject to strict emission limits. This is increasingly the case across all markets and project types. In combination with the also battery-electric Hamm CompactLine tandem rollers, the MINI 500e and the MINI 502e provide a sustainable production system.

Vögele E-Power

The MINI 502e with wheeled undercarriage and the MINI 500e with crawler tracks feature a battery-electric drive outputting 22.8 kW. This provides up to 16 hours’ paving, and can be charged at conventional power sockets in eight hours.

Work in tight spaces, easy to transport

Both the wheeled and the tracked pavers in Vögele’s new MINI Class have a very tight turning circle, enabling them to get into virtually any corner and meaning they can operate practically anywhere. Their highly compact design also means they’re very easy to transport to the jobsite, with transport dimensions of just 2,670 x 870 x 1,585 mm (8.76 x 2.85 x 5.2 ft.), and weighing 1,000 kg (1.10 tons) to 1,500 kg (1.65 tons), depending on model.

Specialists in small-scale construction jobs

The Vögele MINI pavers – here we see the versions featuring a diesel engine and wheeled undercarriage (MINI 502) and crawler tracks (MINI 500) – are ideal for construction and repair on small downtown areas, often working in cramped conditions.

New MINI pavers resulting from cooperation

The pavers were developed in cooperation with C. M. S.r.l., an Italian company with over 40 years’ experience in the manufacture of road construction machinery, and are built for Vögele. “We are delighted to be working with the leading manufacturer of road pavers. The cooperation with Vögele is also a mark of trust in our know-how”, says Gaetano Castiglione, CEO of C. M. S.r.l.

“The new MINI pavers extend Vögele’s product portfolio. And with the battery-electric models, we are supporting the Wirtgen Group’s sustainability objectives, as well as those of our customers of course. Vögele is pursuing ambitious goals to widen the availability of electrified products by 2026. The cooperation with C. M. S.r.l. is enabling us to make great progress in pursuit of our sustainability goals”, says Domenic Ruccolo, CSO Wirtgen Group and Senior Vice President, Sales, Marketing, and Product Support, Global Construction Equipment of John Deere (until January 2023).
