With their manual skills, construction mechanics work with sheet metal, metal profiles, and tubes and assemble them according to the specifications in technical drawings and plans to create complete steel structures. This occupation predominantly involves preparatory work for steel construction, the use of various spot and final welding methods, and finishing prior to construction. The production of high-strength welds, which are an indispensable mark of quality, is undertaken manually or with the aid of state-of-the-art welding robots.

Training program

Your trainers will prepare you for your future career in the course of a three-and-a-half-year training program combining attendance of a vocational training college (the David-Röntgen-Schule in Neuwied) and in-house training in Windhagen. In the course of our in-house training schedule, you will acquire new skills and knowledge in around ten of our company’s departments/divisions. Here are several examples of the comprehensive knowledge you will acquire in the various areas of our company:

  • Cutting with lasers and cutting torches: There, you will learn how to work with advanced warehousing systems, laser and cutting technologies. At the same time, you will gain insights into the numerous aspects of job and project planning.
  • Small parts: You will learn how to work from technical drawings and carry out the first small projects on your own.
  • Steel construction: As a member of a team, you will construct the chassis of heavy construction equipment on the basis of technical drawings and plans.
  • Welding robots: You will learn how to monitor complex processes and procedures and how to program advanced welding robots.

In addition, we offer you in-house courses parallel to the learning content offered by the vocational training college to prepare you for examinations and your later working life.
