Cold recyclers and soil stabilizers

Intelligent computer-assisted systems

Computer-assisted automatic functions not only optimize work processes and thus machine productivity, but also the machine operator’s performance. Our numerous intelligent information and diagnostic systems additionally support the operator and make their job easier – resulting in faster and more efficient operations. A few examples of assistance systems for cold recycling and soil stabilization are presented below.

Engine and diagnostic system

State-of-the-art measurement technology is far superior to conventional manual methods. With WIRTGEN diagnostic technology, it is very easy to have maintenance diagnostics, parameter settings, and troubleshooting information shown on the control display. Automatic machine self-diagnostics independently monitors valves, sensors, and control components. Numerous, well-visualized display pages offer quick and precise information about the machine state.

Binder metering system

Exact conformance to the specified metering of additives is essential to achieve high-quality stabilization and recycling processes. Robust, microprocessor-controlled spray injection units guarantee careful control of the various ingredients such as water, emulsion, and foamed bitumen.

To achieve high-quality mixing results, it is insufficient to input the required parameters just once. They must also be kept constant during the work process. Microprocessors regulate the addition of water, emulsion, and foamed bitumen based on data from flow meters. The specific feed rate for binder depends on preselected parameters such as the working width and depth, material density, and machine feed rate. Inputs are convenient and easy to make using just a few controls in the left armrest console and via the display.

Camera system and reverse driving assist

Camera systems are increasingly developing into an important tool to assist in monitoring operational and process flows on machines that require good visual observation. Even the base version of the WR includes a reverse driving camera.

Reverse driving assist thinks together with operators – assisting them by providing driving assist grid lines in reverse driving.

If the customer wishes, a system can even be set up which consists of a total of four high-resolution color cameras mounted on the machine – at the rear, on the left side and on the underside on the front and rear roller flaps. When multiple cameras are used, another monitor is installed to display camera images.

In the end effect, a comprehensive view of important work processes and areas – e.g., when approaching obstacles or assessing the work results – results in definite advantages in terms of output, economy, and quality.
