Technical Sales Manager

Job Overview

The primary purpose of the Technical Sales Manager’s role is to support the internal sales team, dealers, and customers to provide solutions utilizing Kleemann machines.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and training the dealer network within the specified sales territory. The candidate should be comfortable in presenting to large groups and show confidence and knowledge when educating the existing or new sales team
  • Provide technical sales assistance to the dealer and sales team. Product knowledge is essential as the candidate will be required to specify, design and assist in recommending the required equipment for the customer.
  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
  • Travels through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers on sales floor or by phone.
  • Recommends specific standard or modified equipment best suited for customer's use.
  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems from a commercial and managerial position
  • Attends trade shows.
  • Manage as liaison between manufacturer and dealer.
  • Drive results via distribution system partners and/or direct end customers.
  • Prepare sales forecasts.
  • Submit weekly and monthly management reports.
  • Perform other duties as required.


Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the crushing, screening, and aggregate mining industry
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Suite software


Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands and finger dexterity to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Frequent travel is required.


Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently working at an off-site location, with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. 75% travel is required for this position and it is also required to live within the designated territory.
