New Machines for Asfalttikallio Oy, Finland

It’s a wonderful sight that makes every true road builder’s heart beat faster – 26 new machines from Wirtgen, Vögele, and Hamm, all fresh out of the factory. And these are only the first part of the order for 39 Wirtgen Group products to be shipped to Finland. It’s clear at a glance that Asfalttikallio Oy has big plans in mind.

A serious investment in quality and productivity

Market-leading technology made in Germany, as far as the eye can see: Asfalttikallio Oy is upgrading its fleet with machines supplied by the Wirtgen Group. Including highlights like a Wirtgen W 120 Ri Small Milling Machine, Vögele Compact Class and Universal Class Pavers, and Hamm Rollers, mainly from the HD CompactLine. “For us, as Finland’s second-largest road construction company, we attach particular importance to quality. This strategy has enabled us to achieve significant growth over the past few years’, says Antti Kalliomaa, Managing Director of Asfalttikallio Oy. The expansion of the owner-managed company has now made it necessary to expand its fleet of machines.

First job: road construction at a Finnish national landmark

The first job the paving team from Asfalttikallio Oy took on with the new machines was something special: The task was the expansion of the road infrastructure serving a famous hotspot, the Tuurin Kyläkauppa. Situated out in the sticks, Finland’s biggest shopping centre attracts ten thousands of shoppers and visitors every year. Major events, like an open air festival headlined by top rock acts like the Scorpions, are also staged here.
