Coal dust dosing system

The BENNINGHOVEN EVO JET burner, which burns only oil as a standard, can be expanded with up to three fuels. This turns the burner into a combination burner, allowing oil, natural gas, liquid gas, heavy oil, BtL (biomass to liquid) fuel, coal dust and other fuel types to be used. The coal dust dosing system, which is flanged onto the discharge chute of the coal dust dosing system silo, doses the lignite dust into the conveying pipe from where it is then blown into the burner head through a conveying blower.

The well thought-out coal dust dosing system offers users fundamental advantages regarding:

  • functionality
  • fuel supply
  • safety

Clever concept.

Continuous material flow in the coal dust dosing line
CLF (continuous lignite flow)

> Low-pulsation
> Constant, steady and even flame
> Clean flame – complete burning of the coal dust

Maximum safety.

Tested quality for guaranteed process and functional reliability

> ATEX tested, TÜV approved
> The coal dust dosing system is manufactured as per the new Explosion Protection Directive 2014/34/EU (ATEX) and has type approval: TÜV 19 ATEX 8337
> Approved for use in zone 21

A clean affair

Optimum customer benefit. Efficient and economically viable for a high level of user friendliness and performance

> If the burner is set up correctly, coal dust is a clean fuel that is equivalent to other fuels for heating mineral
> Complies with the strict requirements of the German TA-Luft Regulation and all linked rules and regulations

Fuel saving*

Optimum customer benefit. Efficient and economically viable for a high level of user friendliness and performance

> Pilot flame deactivation at approx. 20% burner output
> Pilot flame consumption: lowering from 80 l/h to approx. 50 l/h
> Reduction by approx. 35 % heating oil
* depending on the calorific value/quality of the lignite dust

Optimized burner settings

Optimum customer benefit. Efficient and economically viable for a high level of user friendliness and performance
> Extremely improved control range
> 1:8 with pilot flame, 1:5 coal dust only
> Particularly interesting for customers running a high RAP feed rate, i.e. two burners running in parallel
> White mineral burner can be run at a more optimized level and more efficiently
> Especially when taking into account the limited heat input of the burner(s) to 19.8 MW (German Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Act)

Retrofitting

State of the art with BENNINGHOVEN Retrofit – plant optimization and retrofitting

> Investment can pay off within 3 years
> A development that pays off: cost-efficient fuel in connection with optimum, even flame pattern
