Paver Access Control (PAC)

PAC allows the paver to be commissioned safely from the screed. The control on the screed step allows the paver to be made ready for operation and transported more quickly. As a result, the PAC system makes things easier for operators and saves valuable time – for more cost-efficient operation.

ErgoPlus 5 pivoting operator’s seats

The ergonomic design of the ErgoPlus 5 paver operator’s seat facilitates fatigue-free and therefore safe operation. The Comfort Package also allows the paver operator’s seat to be pivoted ± 20°. As a consequence, with the seat swivelled out, it is possible to achieve a straight seated position in the direction of travel or to improve the line of sight to the material handling zone. The seat also has two-stage heating.

Optimised hardtop

The optimised hardtop geometry of the “Dash 5” generation of pavers ensures greater headroom on the paver operator’s platform. As a component of the Comfort Package, the insulation in the awnings reduces both heat build-up and noise impact on the paver operator. Generous luggage nets also provide storage space for personal items, providing a place for everything and eliminating trip hazards.

Two 24 V sockets

The paver operator’s platform and the side plates have extra sockets for charging mobile devices and for connecting additional lighting.

Weather protection canopy on the screed

A canopy which can be tilted and pivoted protects screed operators from bright sunlight. It is simple to assemble with a push-fit system.

The PAC control system in detail

Paver Access Control (PAC) in detail

In the dark, the paver's lighting can be switched on first. Once the cover is open, the diesel engine can be started, the hardtop put up and the screed lowered for convenient ascent. The hardtop is locked automatically and the machine control system is booted up. This ensures safety, as the paver operator cannot forget to lock the hardtop, and saves time, as he can start heating the screed as soon as he steps onto the operator’s platform.

Niveltronic Plus

The VÖGELE Niveltronic Plus System for Automated Grade and Slope Control detects every connected sensor automatically, simplifying configuration. All the cabling and connections are integrated in the tractor unit and screed, keeping operator effort to the absolute minimum. Automated solutions such as Niveltronic Plus also save time on the job site and increase paving quality.

Improved step on the screed

A simplified folding mechanism makes the step even quicker to access, whilst its optimised non-slip characteristics make it safer, even in poor weather.

Easy-stow sensor bracket

The brackets for the sensors for grade and slope control are quick to fit to the side plate of the screed without using tools. The brackets can be securely attached to the screed for transport to and from the job site.

Installation aid for screed extensions

The push-fit system allows screed extensions to be fitted quickly and easily, simply by pushing the bolt-on extensions onto the screed from the side and aligning them with a quick-fit coupling. Once the mechanical screw connection is complete, the screed extensions have been fitted correctly.

Hydraulic side plate adjustment

The optional hydraulic adjustment in height for the side plates on the extending screeds delivers a high level of flexibility. Adjustment is made at the touch of a button on the remote control of the hydraulically adjustable side plates. This remote control also controls other functions relevant to the process.

Push-fit tool holder on the screed

The tool holder is easy to attach to and remove from the screed. All the utensils and tools required can be accommodated here.

Swivelling side plate

The swivelling side plates available as an option can be swivelled all the way behind the screed and secured for transport, easily maintaining the transport width of 2.55 m to 3 m. Practical attachment options for the sensors mean the paver is ready for use more quickly and ensure cost-efficient operation.

Additional equipment on the paver hardtop

Additional equipment like the hazard warning light and GPS antenna can be permanently attached to the hardtop and do not have to be removed for transport. This also applies to the weather station available with the RoadScan option.

ErgoPlus 5 paver operator’s console - Standard versus Premium Touch

Premium Touch

The Premium Touch version includes all the functions of the Standard version plus a large touchscreen on the left-hand side of the console, where data from Niveltronic Plus Assist, WITOS Paving, RoadScan, the weather station and the optional cameras can be called up. Premium Touch furthermore equips the paver for the future: digital solutions from VÖGELE can be monitored and adjusted here. It will also be possible to run future applications via Premium Touch.

Standard version

The interface of the ErgoPlus 5 paver operator’s console is arranged as clearly and intuitively as usual. The sophisticated concept has many small details which prove both practical and time-saving in operation. The shallow design of the console provides more legroom, whilst the improved display delivers a clear picture of a variety of parameters. An easy-grip SmartWheel for steering and a potentiometer for fine steering ensures that the “Dash 5” generation of pavers delivers maximum precision in use. The paver operator’s console also has storage space and a 12 V socket for charging mobile devices.

Shallow design

The shape of the ErgoPlus 5 paver operator’s console is particularly shallow and handy, making it easy to stow items and, above all, providing extra legroom.

Improved arrangement of controls

The controls are intelligently arranged to suit the needs of operators.

Optimised steering

The paver is steered using the Smartwheel plus a potentiometer for fine steering. This delivers maximum precision and ergonomics when paving extended bends.

Somewhere to store the smartphone

The console has storage space for a smartphone; a smartphone allows users of WITOS Paving Docu and WITOS Paving Plus, (which also make use of the RoadScan temperature measurement system) to track all the relevant temperature data in real time using the Jobsite Temp app.

Shallow design

The ErgoPlus 5 screed operator’s console is also a shallower design, making it particularly easy to stow.

Independent of the material sensors and the sensors for grade and slope control

The connecting cable and the connections for the material sensors and the sensors for grade and slope control are connected directly to the console at the side plate.

Hydraulic tamper stroke adjustment

Dual Power Shift hydraulic tamper stroke adjustment can be performed on the screed operator’s console.

QuickConnect

The QuickConnect system allows the screed operator’s console to be connected with a simple click. This simple and reliable connection step works even with the paver running.

Optional remote control for flexible movement all around the screed

A remote control is also available with the hydraulically height-adjustable side plate. It is connected to the screed operator’s console and allows the viewpoint to be freely selected around the paving location. Operators benefit from this particularly when adjusting the side plate, observing the flow of material and monitoring pave width exactly.

Lighting

The Lighting Package makes working in the dark much easier and safer. Good illumination of the workplace reduces the risk of operating errors and accidents. The Light Package Plus provides even better light conditions all around the paver. Powerful LEDs are integrated in a specially-developed hardtop extension and these fully illuminate the entire working area up to a pave width of ten metres and up to four metres behind the screed. This makes it unnecessary to fit and transport separate light balloons, which also increases the cost efficiency of the job site.

Logistic Plus

Better logistics – shorter setup times

Logistic Plus allows all the components of the auger and fixed-width screed, together with accessories and fixtures, to be stored in an organized manner and to be transported to the job site safely. A Logistic Plus frame is available for extending the AB 500 and AB 600 standard screeds. The complete 0.75 m extension kit can be stored in it. Two Logistic Plus frames are available for the auger extension – one each for the left and right attachment sides. They can accommodate the 0.25 m, 0.65 m and 1 m extension kits for pavers SUPER 1800-5(i), SUPER 1900-5(i) and SUPER 2100-5(i). This means that the extension kits are always ready to hand on the jobsite.
