Wittlich, 11 August 2026 – Benninghoven is expanding its portfolio with the launch of the new CORE, a cost-effective asphalt mixing plant that combines a clearly defined range of options, a streamlined design, transport and assembly concept and state-of-the-art technology. Designed with a clear focus on long-term cost-efficiency, the plant helps minimise total operating costs throughout its lifecycle.
Based on proven Benninghoven technologies, the CORE can be used worldwide, delivering reliable performance and consistently high asphalt quality throughout its lifecycle, providing long-term investment security. The transportable, highly flexible batch asphalt mixing plant uses batch processing to enable the production of high-quality asphalt mixes with versatile mix designs and RAP addition rates of up to 40%. Should requirements increase, pre-configured interfaces enable the flexible retrofitting of additional components, allowing a rapid response to changing market demands.
The CORE meets the need of plant operators for planning certainty and reliability by keeping ongoing and predictable operating costs as low and transparent as possible. Particular emphasis was placed on optimising the key cost drivers: energy and fuel consumption. Modern variable frequency drives fitted to components such as the exhaust fan and dryer drum automatically adjust performance to match demand, helping to reduce energy consumption.
The new MULTI JET multi-fuel burner provides additional flexibility by enabling the simultaneous use of up to four different fuels. This allows operators to quickly respond to fluctuations in energy prices and fuel availability.
The integrated Smart Weighing System optimises operations to ensure consistently high asphalt quality. High-precision mix recipe control prevents overdosage and maintains tight tolerances, even under varying material flows and temperatures.
The CORE features a new design that makes plant installation more cost-effective. The plant can be installed using cranes with a lifting capacity of less than 90 tonnes. This increases the availability of suitable equipment in the respective regions, enhancing flexibility and reducing installation costs for customers.
Another advantage is that the optimised design enables smaller foundations to be constructed. This reduces the amount of materials required and lowers construction costs for customers.
Thanks to its modular design, the plant can initially be operated in a basic configuration and gradually expanded to meet future requirements. Pre-configured interfaces facilitate future upgrades and enable the system to adapt to evolving market demands without extensive modifications, such as when integrating different additive systems. Pre-installed cable trays simplify installation and improve operational reliability. This makes the CORE ideally suited to mobile construction sites and projects with short lead times.
The plant’s maintenance-friendly design and workplace safety concept, combined with comprehensive safety measures, streamline servicing and operation while ensuring reliable performance. All components are readily accessible via large, ergonomically designed access points. Predefined attachment points for personal protective equipment (PPE), the Benninghoven key transfer system, contact protection on the mixer and pneumatic cylinders, fall-back protection systems and optimised lighting for working and maintenance areas are just some examples of measures designed to enhance workplace safety and ensure high acceptance among operating personnel.
The transport width is kept within limits and the maximum transport height is limited to three metres, so the need for special transport arrangements, escort vehicles and additional permits can often be avoided or reduced.
Intelligent logistics planning for the individual components also reduces the number of transport units required, meaning fewer lorries are needed for global shipping. This simplifies logistics handling and significantly reduces transport costs.
