Milestones in the 2010s
2010

Move to the new factory
In October 2010, JOSEPH VÖGELE AG starts production in the world's most modern paver factory. With a total investment value of 100 million Euros, the new factory built in Ludwigshafen on the river Rhine is one of the biggest investments made in the European mechanical engineering industry. From now on, pavers and screeds for the world market will be produced, assembled and shipped from an outdoor site extending to 370,000 m² and an indoor area of roughly 60,000 m².

In addition to the production halls, the new 3,000 m² "Centre for Training and Technology", or CTT for short, plays a particularly important part here. This basic and vocational training centre is used for in-house training and for training customers' staff.

The new flagship
The SUPER 3000-2 which succeeds the SUPER 2500 is a paver of completely new dimensions. In terms of performance, technical progress and ergonomic design, its "Dash 2" technology makes it the new industry leader amongst large pavers. With a maximum laydown rate of up to 1,600 t/h and pave widths up to 16 m, large-scale construction projects can be completed within a minimal amount of time and pavements without joints built in the greatest possible widths. The tractor includes a material hopper holding 17.5 tonnes. The conveyor tunnel is 1.62 m wide and 40 cm high. A Heavy-Duty kit can be retrofitted if the paver is primarily used for sub-base and base course applications. Abrasive wear is counteracted by reinforced guards for the conveyor tunnel and chassis, as well as by modified auger blades.

Brand new PowerFeeder generation
VÖGELE presents two new models from the PowerFeeder generation: the MT 3000-2 and MT 3000-2 Offset feeders. The MT 3000-2 PowerFeeder is a particularly efficient machine for large-scale job sites requiring both high pavement quality and cost-effective operation. The machine has a material hopper holding 11 tonnes of material and boasts a high-performance feed concept which enables 25-tonne feed vehicles to be emptied in just 60 seconds.

One of the innovations of the MT 3000-2 Offset is its pivoting conveyor, which allows the material feeder to be used for a whole host of different applications. The conveyor can be pivoted 55° to the right and left, and also raised by an angle of 23°. The machine's feed concept has been designed so that materials other than asphalt can be conveyed - such as topsoil, gravel, water-bound base course mixes and recycled materials. The MT 3000-2 Offset is also ideal for "hot to hot" paving.

Innovation: Navitronic for wheeled machines
VÖGELE launches the new system for wheeled machines at Bauma 2010. Navitronic Basic incorporates the same performance features as Navitronic Plus for tracked machines.

Minimal dimensions, larger pave width, maximum range of applications
The new SUPER 700 supersedes the SUPER 600. The mini paver retains the small dimensions of its predecessor, but offers higher performance figures. The most important features are a larger pave width of up to 3.2 m and a more powerful Deutz engine rated at 45 kW.

2016

SUPER 2000-3i and SUPER 2003-3i – more performance for large-scale projects
With its 10-foot tracked and wheeled pavers, VÖGELE has developed two completely new machines for the USA. They were presented to trade visitors for the first time at the Bauma trade fair. The machines were designed primarily for long-distance roads and large-scale projects where performance and productivity are key. Both pavers are equipped with the latest version of the popular ErgoPlus 3 operating system.

Both pavers are absolutely reliable and rugged
VÖGELE’s SUPER 1400 tracked paver and SUPER 1403 wheeled model demonstrate versatility and no-compromise ruggedness. The chassis and the transfer concept are designed for the infrastructure requirements of the Indian market. The potential uses for these compact machines range from the construction of motorways to urban streets with many bends. Versatile, durable and innovative, both machines specifically support improved quality and occupational safety in Indian road construction.

The new temperature measurement system
A constant pave temperature is a key quality criterion for the construction of durable roads. The RoadScan non-contacting measurement system puts VÖGELE at the forefront of this trend for the future, namely quality control. The heart of the system is an infrared camera which scans the entire asphalt pavement. Surface temperatures are clearly visualized in the form of thermal images in the display of the operator’s ErgoPlus 3 console. This makes it possible to react to temperature fluctuations immediately.
