The world‘s only spray paver

The SUPER 1800-3i SprayJet is the ideal machine for a various areas of applications – whether it is used as a classic asphalt paver or for placing thin asphalt overlays on spray seal "hot on hot".

  • Modular machine concept
  • Can be used as a spray paver and as a standard paver
  • Paving thin overlay (DSH-V)
  • Placing conventional binder and surface courses

The SprayJet Module

  • The insulation and integrated electric heating system (2 x 7 kW) ensure that the emulsion is maintained at the temperature required for spraying
  • Capacity of emulsion tank: 2,100 l
  • Compressed air system integrated in the module
  • All the main service points are readily accessible
  • Auxiliary gas heating for heating up the emulsion when supplied cold
  • Heated pump circulates the bitumen emulsion in the tank and ensures it is homogenized
  • All circuits are switched automatically via electronically controlled ball valves
  • An additional filler port on the left provides for flexible refuelling on either side

Emulsion sprayed in a clean and controlled process

The VÖGELE SprayJet module allows the precise selection of a rate of spread ranging from a very small quantity of emulsion through to a large quantity.

  • Five spray bars with a total of 24 nozzles
  • The arrangement of the spray bars allows full coverage of the existing surface with emulsion
  • Rate of spread accurately metered within a range of 0.3 to 1.6 kg/m²
  • SprayJet nozzles spray the emulsion not continuously, but in pulsed operation
  • Existing surface completely covered with a uniform film of emulsion
  • Emulsion is applied at a low spray pressure of no more than 3 bar

Two different types of spray nozzle are available for the spray bars of the SprayJet module: sizes 10 or 16. Size 10 nozzles are fitted as standard.

Advantages of SprayJet technology

What are the key advantages of paving thin overlay hot on spray seal?

  • Cost-effective asphalt paving method for rehabilitation or renewal of surface courses
  • The technique is appropriate for all kinds of traffic areas
  • The layer thickness is normally no more than 1.2 to 2 cm
  • There is no need for costly kerbs or other pavement fittings
  • Pave speed is three to five times higher than with conventional equipment
  • The bitumen emulsion is sprayed and the asphalt course placed in a single pass
  • This way, job site vehicles do not drive over the sprayed surface and never damage the emulsion film
