The early 1950s saw the start into combustion technology, with small burners for residential and office buildings, while the focus later shifted more and more to industrial burners. In particular, the development of large burners for drying mineral material in the asphalt-producing industry in the early 1960s paved the way for asphalt plants and the asphalt industry.
The burners were followed by dryer drums, bitumen systems and machines for producing mastic asphalt. The continuously growing demand for BENNINGHOVEN quality products necessitated an expansion of the production facility in the 1970s – a modern production site was built in Mühlheim on the Moselle. In 1986, the first asphalt mixing plant left the BENNINGHOVEN factory and the success story of BENNINGHOVEN becoming an industry pioneer began.
An extensive worldwide expansion took place in Wittlich in 1990. A second site with state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment started operations. In 2009, BENNINGHOVEN celebrated its 100th anniversary.
Today, pioneering technologies and perfectly trained personnel characterise the actions of the BENNINGHOVEN Group. They are a guarantee for continuous innovation and customer focus. Milestones such as the hot-gas generator recycling technology, the integration into the Wirtgen Group and the move to the world's most modern factory for manufacturing asphalt mixing plants in 2018 have made the company a pacesetter in the field of asphalt mixing plants.
