Bauma 2022 innovations: Design Award for the new HC series

Safe, efficient and equipped for the digital construction site – these are the key features of the new HC series compactors from Hamm. The new compactors, which are available in the weight classes from 11 t to 25 t, are gradually replacing the previous 3000 series and the H series. The models in the 18 to 25 t operating weight class have already been awarded the prestigious iF Design Award. This is Hamm's 38th design award.

HC series with high ergonomic standards

Great design is not only evident in the shape of a construction machine. It also stands out thanks to intuitive operability, which prevents operator errors. "We are harmonizing ergonomics, functionality and aesthetics, and providing our rollers with something that sets them apart – "Hamm DNA". For us, not just pure performance, but also ergonomics and simple operation are right at the top of the agenda," says Dr Axel Römer, Head of Research and Development at Hamm. One important component for this is Easy Drive, the language-neutral and logically designed operation from Hamm.

Tailor-made for individual requirements

With the HC series, Hamm is pursuing a platform strategy from which customers and users benefit: Thanks to an extensive range of options, they can adapt each roller to their individual requirements and areas of application. This includes, among other things, different expansion stages for the operator's platform. They range from the open platform, right through to the heated and air-conditioned cab. Supported by the HAMMTRONIC machine management system, modern diesel engines guarantee highly productive working days and efficient use of fuel in all weight classes.

Equipped for the digital construction site

Thanks to modern hardware and interfaces, the compactors in the HC series are "digital ready" and are therefore ready for the applications, quality requirements and communication requirements of the construction sites of the future. Among other things, Hamm uses its own Smart Doc app in the HC series, and this app displays all of the key compaction parameters as well as the compaction progress on a mobile end device (Android) and compiles the data for a user-friendly analysis and a compaction report.
