1928/29

A new era dawns
With the development of the first road paver, VÖGELE moves into a new sector which is to shape the company's future. It marks the beginning of a success story which still continues today.

The first machines developed and built by VÖGELE are towed spreaders to facilitate the placing of crushed stone and asphalt. These spreaders are towed by a feed vehicle while the material is transferred. They already feature a height-adjustable strike-off plate for adjusting layer thickness.

1934

Perfection based on expertise
The new towed spreader model is perfected in 1934: barely six weeks after the first machine is commissioned, another 20 are sold, most of them abroad.

1935

Self-propelled, manœuvrable and light
VÖGELE develops a highly manœuvrable, lightweight and fuel-saving self-propelled spreader for concrete and asphalt based on the American model. The spreader's working width ranges from 3 to 4.5 m. Equipped with crawler tracks, it is easy to use, even on poor substrates and slopes. Its mean pave speed is 3 m/min.

1950

HL 50 – the most modern German paver
VÖGELE develops the powerful HL 50 asphalt paver with easy-to-steer crawler tracks. It can master pave widths from 2.5 to 3.85 m and experts consider it the most modern paver in Germany. Outstandingly even pavements can be produced by the levelling unit equipped with a lifting device and a finishing beam arranged close to the rollers. The HL 50 demonstrates its proficiency during construction of the legendary Solitude race track near Stuttgart in Germany.
