Surface Miners and Cross Application Miners

Extraction of primary resources and execution of large-scale infrastructure projects without drilling and blasting

Ruggedly-built Surface Miners are used for the extraction of a wide range of primary resources by cutting in open cast mines. Thanks to selective extraction, they achieve high degrees of material quality and enable optimal exploitation of mineral deposits. Cross Application Miners are purpose-built for frequently changing applications, particularly in the course of larger infrastructure projects. These machines therefore differ to some extent in terms of features, equipment and size and are therefore also easier to transport.

Cross Application Miners

Cross Application Miners are characterised by their suitability for a wide range of applications. For example, they are used on demanding infrastructure projects, for cutting road and rail routes, lowering tunnel floors and in the construction of harbours or water retention basins. Cutting drums are available for the mining of hard or soft rock. In most cases, the extracted material is loaded into road-legal construction site trucks with the machine’s integrated discharge conveyor. Due to frequently changing assignments, Cross Application Miners are easier to move from site to site than Surface Miners. Furthermore, the machines are designed and constructed to withstand only the typical stresses encountered on infrastructure construction sites, and are therefore not suitable for continuous mining operations.
