Job Overview

The Area Parts Sales Manager is responsible for driving aftermarket parts sales growth within their assigned Area of Responsibility (AOR), with a strong emphasis on wear parts and high value replacement components. This role represents all Wirtgen Group brands—WIRTGEN, VÖGELE, HAMM, and KLEEMANN—and serves as the primary liaison between the company, dealers, and customers in their territory. The manager will conduct ongoing market research, analyze competitive offerings, identify customer and market needs, and coordinate closely with the Parts Lifecyle team to ensure the right parts, programs, and support materials are aligned with regional demand. By building strong dealer relationships and executing strategic market plans, the Area Parts Sales Manager increases parts penetration, drives awareness of aftermarket programs, and strengthens the dealer network’s capability to support customers.


Key Responsibilities

Market Research & Competitive Analysis:
  • Conduct ongoing research on competitive parts offerings, pricing strategies, product availability, and service models within the AOR.
  • Gather market intelligence related to machine population, customer operating practices, wear part consumption, and emerging needs.
  • Identify gaps in the current aftermarket portfolio and provide insights to the Parts Program Development & Sales Director and Parts Lifecycle team to shape future offerings.

Territory Sales Management:
  • Develop and execute an AOR-specific annual business plan centered on machine population, market conditions, competitive intelligence, and growth opportunities.
  • Maintain a regular travel schedule throughout the assigned territory to support dealers and customers, identify opportunities, and drive wear parts sales.
  • Collaborate with dealers to establish parts sales targets, promotional strategies, stocking priorities, and customer engagement plans.
  • Promotes machine inspections, rebuilds, and parts lifecycle programs that enhance dealer aftermarket performance.

Coordination with Parts Lifecycle and Parts Support teams:
  • Work closely with the Parts Lifecycle team to align product offerings, training, and technical support with AOR needs.
  • Provide field-based feedback on wear part performance, customer issues, competitive gaps, and emerging machine applications.
  • Collaborate with Parts Program Development & Sales Director on the rollout of new aftermarket initiatives, pricing programs, and promotional campaigns tailored to regional needs.
  • Ensure dealers receive timely information, guidance, and materials related to new part introductions or enhanced aftermarket programs.

Dealer & Customer Engagement:
  • Build strong partnerships with dealership leadership, parts managers, and purchasing teams to drive growth and improve aftermarket performance.
  • Support dealer staff through product demonstrations, training sessions, and joint customer visits.
  • Maintain accurate, up to date dealer and customer information in company systems, ensuring visibility into opportunities and activities.
  • Address customer needs by supporting issue resolution, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring high service standards.

Sales Execution & Reporting:
  • Develop sales forecasts, opportunity pipelines, and action plans to expand penetration of wear parts and other aftermarket products.
  • Prepare and maintain records of travel activities, business transactions, expenses, and opportunity tracking.
  • Monitor dealer stocking levels and recommend adjustments to ensure product availability and alignment with regional consumption patterns.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on AOR performance, market trends, competitive developments, and program impacts.


Qualifications:

  • Strong technical background in Wirtgen Group products lines.

Education & Experience:

  • Associate degree (minimum) in Business, Marketing, Technical Studies or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in aftersales, aftermarket operations and related heavy equipment fields


Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk and hear, required to frequently sit, stand; walk; gross hand and finger dexterity; occasionally reach outward with hands and arms; rarely climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently working at an off-site location, with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel expectation for this position is 75%.
