Having been rooted in China for over 40 years, in Langfang, not far from the Chinese capital Beijing, the WIRTGEN GROUP has set up a base which is the largest overseas investment project in the history of the Wirtgen Group. The local production base adopts the same strict quality standards as the German brand headquarters. The products are not only popular at home in China, but also in overseas markets such as Asia.
The Langfang factory accommodates not only an assembly plant, but also a workshop and a spare parts warehouse. Reliable and professional services can be provided to customers through nationwide subsidiaries, regional sales and service centers and distribution network with around 30 authorized dealer companies. “Close to our customers” is our value proposition, and quality is our solid commitment to our customers.
Lean production
Assembly and quality inspection embedded with Digital Work Center based on SAP technology. Digital Work Center system representing cutting-edge Industry 4.0 concept, has been deployed to every station of all assembly lines, which realizes high standardization of the entire assembly process and digital interconnection with parts storage and logistics systems. Driven by customer order, real-time digital connectivity of entire production operation further optimizes processes, enhances quality standard, reduces response times and makes efficient use of resources. The workshops are equipped with assembly lines for WIRTGEN cold milling machines, VÖGELE pavers and HAMM rollers. The equipment produced is customized for variety of application purpose, so it can well meet the specific needs of customers.
Full quality control
Every single machine off the assembly line is fully tested in this area strictly based on standards of Wirtgen Group headquarter factories. In designated testing area, experienced technicians fulfill complete testing on full functional parameters and machine settings for each machine off assembly line. Take VÖGELE for example, each paver has been tested with dozens of items under five categories, including emergency stop, cylinder, material flow, traction, screed. All items have specified implementation instruction and strictly measurable standard. Every single machine is subjected to a thorough quality inspection before being delivered to customers. In addition to the testing ground, we also have testing bays where, for example, the oscillation and vibration systems of the Hamm machines can be tried out. It is the final step in our sophisticated quality management system.

Lean digitalization continues to empower the improvement of quality management. Sustainable development is an inseparable part of Wirtgen China’s core philosophy and serves as a guideline in the daily production. Complementing the strict quality control system, they jointly shape the company’s core competitiveness. Langfang factory has passed the strict ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System Certification, ISO14001:2015 environmental management system certification and ISO45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certification. The continuous efforts in the field of green manufacturing earns Langfang factory the title of “Provincial-level green factory”.
