HAMM 311 – 1,000th machine rollout

The 1,000th HAMM 311 - soil compactor, rolled out on 27th March from the Pune production facility of Wirtgen India, and handed over to the biggest customer of Wirtgen Group in India - Dilip Buildcon Limited, who own the entire fleet of Wirtgen Group machines.

Since its launch in Aug 2011, this powerful machine has impressed customers with its performance.

Simple operation, high compaction performance, a high-quality engine and excellent drive characteristics: these are the highlights of the HAMM 311 compactor.

The compactor with 11 ton operating weight impresses with numerous technical highlights. The 3 point pendulum articulated joint is particularly note-worthy. It gives the machine excellent driving and steering characteristics, an unsurpassed directional stability and offers the best driving comfort. At all times, a modern display informs the driver about the machine condition and guarantees simple operation. The construction site and all important points of the machine are always in the compactor driver's view from the platform.

Power comes from a water-cooled Cummins engine, which sits under the carbon fibre bonnet. The sleek curves of this hood help ensure excellent visibilitiy - not something that can be said about many other compactors on the market in India.

Mr. K P Shetty AVP Sales & Service - Wirtgen India - states that ,- “ With the Hamm 311, we have developed a model that is designed specifically for the Indian market. This single drum compactor corresponds to the high standards of quality of the Wirtgen Group, but is manufactured locally so that the pricing allows us to prevail on this highly competitive market."
