Two crushing stages, two pre-screenings and four final screenings for the best end product quality

The LSR Group is one of the largest companies in the Russian construction industry. The company subsidiary OOO Zement LSR is currently constructing a modern cement plant near St. Petersburg where it is planned that 1.85 million tons of cement will be produced per annum. For this purpose, among other things, in Slanzy, a small town not far from the Estonian-Russian border, limestone is obtained using a combination of mobile crushers and screen plants from Kleemann.

During two crushing stages, approximately 240 tons of material is produced per hour in 0–70 mm sizes. These are subsequently divided into three final fractions. As the feed material contains a very large quantity of fines, it was decided to only use plants with active primary screens in both the first and second crushing stages. Not least for this reason, the two Kleemann plants were chosen. A MOBICAT MC 120 Z mobile jaw crusher is used in the first crushing stage. This extremely robust plant crushes stone of 0–800 mm to approximately 0 – 250 mm. The feed material is already effectively purified at this stage using the double-deck primary screen. Furthermore, the feed material, which is already in the desired size, is fed directly onto the discharge conveyor via a by-pass device on the crusher. This further increases the efficiency of the plant.

During the second stage, the material is reduced to sizes of 0–70 mm using the MOBIREX MR 130 Z mobile impact crusher. This crusher also has an active double-deck primary screen which serves the purpose of removing the remaining impurities of 0–30 mm in size. Thanks to the screening unit, oversize grain sizes greater than 70 mm are removed and dumped in heaps, which are then used as the basic material for road construction.

For the final screening, the MOBIREX MR 130 Z transfers the material with sizes ranging between 0–70 mm to a MOBISCREEN MS 19 Z mobile double-deck screening plant. This plant, which can be used for both recycling and crushing natural stone, can achieve output capacities of up to 500 t/h with its screen size which measures 1520 x 6100 mm (upper deck). Here, the material is separated into final fractions of 0–20 mm, 20–45 mm and 45–70 mm and transported to the heap via its large discharge conveyors.
