WIRTGEN GROUP provides Asfaltbolaget with a complete crushing and screening plant train from KLEEMANN

Asfaltbolaget, with its head office in Karlskrona, is a Swedish asphalt, road and landscape construction company. In their granite and gneiss quarry in Furuby in southern Sweden, they have been operating an asphalt mixing plant from BENNINGHOVEN for several years. Added to this is a fleet of road construction machines from WIRTGEN, VÖGELE and HAMM. After all of their positive experience with WIRTGEN GROUP, it stood to reason to include crushing and screening plants from KLEEMANN in their short-list.

Powerful and efficient plants paired with a well thought-out service concept

The KLEEMANN crushing plants impress with a powerful diesel-electric drive. The diesel engine can be substituted as required by an external power supply. The diesel-hydraulic screening plants have a corresponding Dual Power option. In future, Asfaltbolaget intends to operate the plant train exclusively with electricity, which is possible thanks to the two drive concepts.

A further decisive factor was the integrated service concept from WIRTGEN GROUP. As plants from KLEEMANN are used exclusively, all service enquiries can be made to a single contact partner. This reduces co-ordination complexity and thus downtimes.

Sales and Service from WIRTGEN SWEDEN and KLEEMANN also accompanied Asfaltbolaget beyond the buying decision. The team handled the complete process from delivery and commissioning of the plants up to optimisation of the production process.

"We just can’t imagine anything going wrong"

Patrik Magnusson, Production Manager, Asfaltbolaget

Co-operation between Asfaltbolaget, WIRTGEN SWEDEN and KLEEMANN went hand in hand

Highly productive plants do not automatically mean a constantly high output. Machines operators are also a decisive factor with regard to production success. KLEEMANN Service technicians therefore provided intensive instruction to Asfaltbolaget employees in the operation, maintenance and fault elimination in the machines as well as process optimisation. Thanks to the intuitive control system SPECTIVE, learning of the settings is fairly easy.

"This is a completely new way of thinking from KLEEMANN"

Peter Rundqvist, machine operator, Asfaltbolaget

The production output is also impressive

In the first crushing stage, the mobile jaw crusher MOBICAT MC 120 Z PRO crushes gneiss and granite with a feed size of 0-600 mm to material with a size of 0-150 mm. Then the mobile cone crusher MOBICONE MCO 11 PRO crushes the material to 0-90 mm. The production output in the first two crushing stages is approx. 350-400 t/h.

The second part of the plant train is positioned a few metres further on. A MOBISCREEN MS 15 Z for coarse elements screens the oversize and fine grain and loads a further MCO 11 PRO with 16-32 mm for the third crushing stage. Two MOBISCREEN MS 953 EVO classifying screens finally divide the end product, depending on requirements, into 5-6 different fractions. Approx. 90% of the material is then used for asphalt production – the remainder is used as ballast in road construction.
