Hillhead 2016: Wirtgen Group showcases solutions for the entire process chain in road construction

Five strong brands – Wirtgen, Vögele, Hamm, Kleemann and now Benninghoven exhibiting together for the first time in the UK – and 11 premium products from the extensive Wirtgen Group plant and machinery range: at this year's Hillhead, sales and service company Wirtgen Limited (stand number Q1) is presenting a cross-section of innovative solutions for the entire process chain in road construction – from processing and mixing through paving and compacting to rehabilitation.

Wirtgen: Leading small and compact milling machines from the global market leader

Wirtgen is showcasing two machines from its market-leading road repair fleet, presenting models from its small and compact milling machine lines. Tailored to the differing requirements of customers, the cold milling machines feature a winning combination of enormous flexibility in application and high cost efficiency. This can be seen in the compact milling machine W 100 CFi, for instance, which unites the maneuverability of small machines with the productivity of larger versions for maximum flexibility on job sites. The W 35 Ri small milling machine will also be on show. The smallest of Wirtgen's cold milling machines performs superbly when cutting out small areas for partial roadway rehabilitations, milling around manhole covers or applying or removing road markings.

Vögele: Innovative solutions for road construction

With the SUPER 1303-3i and the SUPER 800-3i Vögele is presenting highly innovative paver. The SUPER 1303-3i has a basic width of 1.85 m and an overall length of 4.95 m which make the paver ideal for jobs in confined spaces. The ErgoPlus 3 operating system has been supplemented by numerous ergonomic and functional features. When it comes to technology, the Mini Class paver SUPER 800-3i can certainly keep pace with the large ”Dash 3“ pavers. The powerful material conveying system is sophisticated, as is the new ErgoBasic operating concept.

Hamm: Premium technology for earth and asphalt compaction

Hamm is presenting four rollers at this year's Hillhead, including the H7i from the H CompactLine. A breeze to operate with its ergonomically optimized workstation, this exceedingly compact model is particularly suitable for building contractors and machine hire companies. When compacting, it excels with its outstanding climbing ability, excellent operational characteristics and ample ground clearance.

Hamm's HD CompactLine makes it the global market leader in the compact tandem roller segment. Two representatives of the series in the weight class up to 4.5 t will be presented on site. The HD 8 VV and the HD 12 VV owe their appeal to their combination of a 3-point swivel joint for optimum driving comfort and unbeatable all-round visibility thanks to their slim-line front end. Meanwhile, the HD+ 80i VV from the HD+ series of articulated tandem rollers promises power for the medium class.

Kleemann: Outstanding equipment for natural stone processing and recycling

The Göppingen-based specialist for mobile crushers and screens is exhibiting two of its machines. One is the MC 100 R EVO, the smallest jaw crusher in the MOBICAT model range, the design of which is closely modeled on the MC 110 R EVO, a plant to which it also bears a strong outward resemblance. It, too, for instance, comes with the familiar diesel-direct drive concept. With the smaller overall system dimensions and a weight of approx. 30 t, the MC 100 R EVO is even easier to transport. Nevertheless, it still manages feed capacities of up to 220 t/h and can be optimally configured with options to meet the requirements of contractor customers. Another highlight is the MR 110 Z EVO 2 mobile impact crusher. The universally adaptable plant is suitable for processing both blasted natural stone as well as demolition rubble of mineral origin, producing a first-class final product quality. Despite its comparatively small crusher inlet size of 1,100 x 800 mm, it achieves throughput rates that have up to now only been achievable with considerably larger systems. As a result, maximum feed capacities of up to 350 t/h can be easily attained.

Benninghoven: The right asphalt mixing plant for every material

Hillhead marks the first time all five Wirtgen Group product brands have appeared together. Benninghoven, the youngest member of the family, is contributing a transportable asphalt mixing plant. Based in Buxton, the specialist manufacturer of asphalt mixing plants and their components is presenting the TBA 3000, a transportable asphalt mixing plant with a mixing capacity of 240 t/h.

The TBA comes in a modular design in sizes that allow easy transport. Since every section is cabled and piped ready for operation, assembly is simple, effortless and above all quick. The plant can also be erected without the need for fixed concrete foundations. Generously dimensioned access platforms to all sections ensure optimum conditions for inspection and servicing work.
