Tool changing made easy

Series Customer Support Part 13:

Kleemann jaw crusher - tool change made easy

Numerous details facilitate the replacement of the crushing tools on the jaw crushers of the MOBICAT series. Simple handling is a decisive advantage that significantly improves user safety. It also shortens machine downtimes – which lowers the production costs.

Depending on the feed material and machine operating time, jaw crushers need to have their jaws changed at certain intervals. Users have to deal with massive and heavy components, and the work can be time-consuming, physically demanding and quite dangerous. In the last few years, Kleemann has invested a lot in development work and the simplification of the tool change. The result is a MOBICAT series which is characterised, among other things, by all-round good accessibility of all components, clever safety features and digital support.

Safe locking

Even if the crusher jaws of a MOBICAT plant have a long service life thanks to the optimum geometry of the crushing chamber, crusher jaws are still classic wear parts. They have to be replaced at regular intervals. Laborious and time-consuming pulling of the crushing jaws combined with welding work – this is history thanks to the sophisticated components of the MOBICAT EVO and the MOBICAT PRO plants. The crusher jaws can be securely locked in place with the gallows-type structure supplied as standard.

Good accessibility

Easily accessible, wide platforms on the right and left provide users with secure footing and sufficient space. The crusher jaw is secured with three screws and a hook bar, and the locking mechanism also prevents it from moving sideways when changing. The side wedges can also be loosened and removed from the hook rail with just a few screws. Easy accessibility is even provided from below. Users have a comfortable 60 to 70 centimetre of space to work manually from below, for example to clean the crusher outlet – no more cramped work, no more acrobatic challenges.

Time saving plus safety

Thanks to all these details, changing the two crusher jaws on a MOBICAT plant can now be completed by an experienced team in just over half a day – with other systems, this can take a day's work. Time in which the machine is at a standstill and can not produce. And: User safety is significantly improved by the simple locking mechanism, the good standing surface and the freedom of movement around the machine.
