The new Wirtgen W 125 CF, W 155 CF and W 185 CF compact milling machines were developed especially for the Asian market.

New compact milling machines for the Asian market

Three new Wirtgen compact milling machines: the W 125 CF, W 155 CF and W 185 CF models are designed especially for the Asian market

They impress with a powerful engine rated output of 261 kW and are ready to take on the most challenging jobs. Wirtgen developed these three new compact milling machines – the W 125 CF, W 155 CF and W 185 CF – especially for the Asian markets.

Wirtgen compact milling machines unite many of the advantages of the manufacturer’s large and small milling machines: on the road, they impress with exceptional performance, high operational flexibility and outstanding manoeuvrability. As front loaders, their front-mounted discharge conveyors also simplify and speed up on-site logistics processes. With the W 125 CF, W 155 CF and W 185 CF, Wirtgen has developed three models that are specifically designed to meet the needs of customers in China and Asia.

The highlights of the new compact milling machines for the Asian market

The new compact milling machines for the Asian market are distinguished by their outstanding user friendliness, high loading capacity, LEVEL PRO PLUS for maximum precision, new levels of agility with tightest turning radii, high-traction fast-running undercarriages, impressive milling performance in a wide range of applications, environmental friendliness and sustainability, high efficiency and tremendous productivity.

The new compact milling machines combine German engineering expertise with practical experience from the Asian markets

The W 125 CF, W 155 CF and W 185 CF represent the outcome of a Sino-German co-development project. ‘Our new cold milling machines incorporate Wirtgen’s expertise gathered in numerous decades of developing cold milling machines and the market insights and practical experience of the colleagues in China’, explains Martin Coenen, project manager milling machines at the Wirtgen brand headquarters in Windhagen, Germany. The tremendous performance and operational flexibility that characterises the compact milling machines is built on and around a state-of-the-art drive concept. This concept fulfils the MEP Stage III exhaust gas emission standard, and makes the operation of these machines particularly efficient and minimises environmental impact.

W 125 CF, W 155 CF and W 185 CF with innovative new features such as the quadruple pendulum system and the PTS system

High productivity and precision is assured by various innovative new features designed specifically for Wirtgen’s Asian customers. For example, the quadruple pendulum system of the track units. This automatically compensates for height differences such as those caused by obstacles on the road surface. Closely related to this is the PTS system (PTS = Parallel To Surface) integrated in the automatic levelling system that ensures that the W 125 CF, W 155 CF and W 185 CF machines are always aligned the parallel to the surface during the milling process. This enables users to precisely rehabilitate even road surfaces with cross-slope profiles at the press of a button.

‘Our new compact milling machines incorporate the numerous decades of experience gathered by the Wirtgen Group in the development of cold milling machines and the market insights and practical experience of our Chinese colleagues.’

Martin Coenen, project manager milling machines

Front loading lends the machines enormous flexibility in all applications: The W 125 CF, W 155 CF and W 185 CF all feature a discharge conveyor that can be slewed up to 60° to the left and right.

ISC electronic traction control for high milling productivity

To ensure optimum exploitation of their outstanding capabilities on the road surface, the compact milling machines are all equipped with Wirtgen’s ISC intelligent electronic traction control system. Even in the case of challenging milling widths, the system ensures constant speed and maximum traction of all four track units and, in consequence, high milling performance and productivity.

The new compact milling machines are ideal for a broad spectrum of applications

Switching milling drums of the same width, but with different tool spacing, makes the W 125 CF, W 155 CF and W 185 CF machines ideal for a broad spectrum of applications. This encompasses not only surface course rehabilitation, but also complete removal or fine milling of asphalt surfaces.

‘Thanks to the numerous assistance systems, the number of manual settings required is reduced. This prevents operating errors and increases productivity and precision. So customers and users have every reason to look forward to the new compact milling machines.’

Howard Shen, Senior Product Manager Wirtgen (China) Machinery Co., Ltd.

Compact milling machine W 125 CF

The W 125 CF offers unique versatility

The W 125 CF is the most versatile milling machine in the compact class. Its standard milling width of 1.2 m (FB1200) guarantees rapid fast advance rates in a wide range of working conditions. The spectrum of applications can be expanded by switching to milling drums of the same width, but with different tool spacing. Even greater flexibility is provided by the full FCS package and the option it offers for switching milling drums to achieve a milling width of 0.6 m (FB600) or 0.9 m (FB900). These narrower tools, for example, enable customers to cost-effectively mill off hard shoulders in the course of road widening projects. Thanks to its slim undercarriage, the W 125 CF is also ideal for use on construction sites with restricted space or in inner-city areas.

The W 125 CF is the only one of the compact milling machine models that can be supplied with FCS as an optional feature. FCS enables the exchange of the machine’s standard milling drum to milling drums with different working widths and different tool spacings.

Compact milling machine W 155 CF

The W 155 CF unites high productivity and tremendous manoeuvrability

With a milling width of 1.5 m, the W 155 CF combines a broad working width – which ensures high daily productivity – with outstanding manoeuvrability. Thanks to its compact dimensions, the high-productivity all-rounder is the ideal choice for a broad spectrum of applications. These encompass, for example, surface course rehabilitation and the complete removal of the asphalt pavement on urban streets and rural roads. Thanks to four different steering modes, the machine offers sensitive steering at all working speeds, which enables particularly precise manoeuvring.
