EVO JET burner

State of the art – market leader in the field of combustion technology for asphalt mixing plants

Continuously rising energy costs and careful use of limited resources require innovative technologies and continuous further development. The burner type EVO JET was developed by the BENNINGHOVEN research team in practical application.

At the same time, the popular and proven user friendliness played an essential role in the development of the burner. The burner has a modular structure and is easily accessible.

To move the burner for maintenance purposes, it is set onto a corresponding chassis. Frequency converter technology allows the burner fan as well as the oil pump to operate in all control ranges, in perfect coordination. This means that only the actually requested consumption is used for drying in all performance ranges. The complete new development of the silencer combines noise reduction with improved combustion efficiency. This is achieved with the new positioning of the air intakes. The higher efficiency is due to the fact that the heat radiated by the face side of the drum is captured and the pre-heated air is guided to the burner. This means less energy is required for pre-heating the air. This helps to lower fuel costs. The burners from the EVO-JET series were developed for all fuels and have proven successful in practical application. The energy saving range is completed by the fact that BENNINGHOVEN already uses electric motors complying with the IE 2 (or IE 3) standard, which will become mandatory in the future.

Oil burner

Heating oil is injected into the burner head through a nozzle using high pressure (in combination with compressed air if requested), mixed with the air stream from the fan and ignited with a propane gas flame. A stable, clean flame ensures efficient heating of the minerals guided into the drying area without the need for a firebrick-lined combustion chamber. A synchronous control is used to generate the optimum fuel/air mixture for the entire control range to ensure clean combustion. A corresponding heater device pre-heats viscous fuels. This provides the prerequisite for ideal viscosity and environmentally friendly combustion. These fuels are primarily heavy oil or used oil.

Gas burner

Years of experience in handling gases such as natural gas, town gas, bio gas, etc. prove the safe and efficient use of the BENNINGHOVEN EVO JET burner. The gas is introduced into the burner through a gas supply manifold, equipped with all required safety, control and monitoring devices, with a final flow pressure of 300 mbar. The gas is distributed in a circular motion with a special gas distribution ring, mixed with the fan air and combusted. This achieves maximum economic efficiency and clean ecological combustion.

Liquid gas burner

Liquid gases (LPG) such as propane, butane or mixtures thereof are stored in special tanks and introduced into the burner by a high-pressure pump at approx. 10 bar as a liquid. A safety gas supply manifold section is attached to the burner in a compact design. The fuel is added precisely through a metering valve and injected with a special nozzle, ignited and burnt cleanly.

Coal dust burner

A special feature of the coal dust burner for dryer drums is that it guides lignite dust through a number of nozzles and into the burner head, where it is intensively mixed with the combustion air and ignited by an auxiliary burner. This produces a stable burner flame which operates economically with little excess air.

Multi-fuel burner

Of course, the BENNINGHOVEN EVO JET burner range can also be used as combination burners with all the fuels listed above. Composite controls specially developed for this allow the operator of the combustion system to select the respective fuel with the press of a button in the control cabin. A mechanical conversion of the burner is not required for this.
